About the brand

The story begins in March 1952, when Pierre CHARNAY founded the MEDICIS confectionery factory. He bought a workshop in Saint-Maur, near Paris, where he moved into the flat on the first floor with his family. His five children grew up in the lively and demanding atmosphere of the confectionery business. With the help of his eldest son, Mario, Pierre Charnay expanded production and quickly became a leading manufacturer in the confectionery market.

Today, Jacques, Bernard, Jean-Christophe and Pierre CHARNAY, the descendants of the company's founder, proudly perpetuate and promote the rich tradition of gourmet gifts. This tradition is not only about confectionery, but also about a whole culture and art of living, introduced to the French court by Catherine de Medici. MEDICIS plays a part in upholding the French food model, based on diversity, pleasure and sharing.
