Centuries before feminism and the rethinking of women's roles, a young lady lived in the heart of Champagne, who, after the sudden death of her husband, turned against all social expectations and decided to run the family's champagne house. Barbe Nicole Ponsardin became world-famous not only as an estate manager but also as an innovator under the name Madame Clicquot: together with her cellar master, they invented the riddling rack, one of the foundations of traditional champagne making. Following the finest traditions, the champagne house still announces the titles of the world's best female chef and businesswoman every year.
