The long green onion is most commonly found around Easter, as it is one of the main ingredients of the festive menu.

Interesting fact

It is worth consuming as it contains high amounts of vitamin C and B. It is practically a "by-product" of planting onions, as very often the "excess" plants are picked up when thinning out the densely sown onions and sold as spring onions.

Use

Its characteristic flavour is a perfect complement to egg dishes. You can even make cream soup from it when cooked.

Storage

Store in a dry, cool place between 0-4 °C.
