In 1899, the Grand Hotel confectionery advertised its Opera cake product in a French newspaper advertisement, but many believe that the version known today as Opera slice was created in 1955 by the French Dalloyau confectionery.

They are proud that their dishes are prepared without the addition of preservatives and additives, and for the sake of sustainability, they are packaged in environmentally friendly brown cardboard boxes in portions for 2 people.

Sustainability

Zsidai Home has developed an environmentally conscious, economically sustainable, quality and affordable alternative to classic, "instant" restaurant home delivery. Compared to traditional restaurant home delivery, they use significantly less and more environmentally friendly packaging. Most of their dishes can be prepared with the packaging, so they have tried to minimize washing up at home and thus water, chemical and energy consumption.
 
Zsidai Home dishes are prepared without the addition of preservatives and additives, yet they can be stored in the refrigerator for at least a week due to the vacuum packaging used. Due to the shelf life of several days and the 2-portion packaging, the delivery frequency is also reduced, so the carbon footprint of delivery is a fraction of traditional home delivery.
