Lime

Its fruit has a thin skin, no seeds, plenty of juice, a pleasant taste, and is mildly sour. A close relative of the lemon, whose skin remains greenish-yellow even when fully ripe, which is much thinner than that of the "traditional lemon". The flesh of the fruit is very juicy, fragrant and more aromatic than that of the lemon.

Interesting fact

Also known as green lemon. It originates from Southeast Asia, India, but nowadays it is grown in every tropical country. Similar to lemon, it has a high vitamin C content.

Usage

A popular ingredient in cocktails. We can also use it when making fruit salads, for sponge cakes, sauces and marinades. An essential ingredient in Mexican, Latin American, Indian and Thai cuisine.

Store in a dry, cool place, between 10-12 °C.
