Mészáros Szekszárdi Pinot Noir

The pinot noir grapes are harvested in mid-September at optimal - not too ripe - ripeness to preserve their fruitiness. Pinot noir is a lighter, lighter-coloured wine with a unique style.

Description

The healthy, ripe grapes come from the hills surrounding the town of Szekszárd, which are picked from vines with a vine load of 1.5 kg and a green harvest (yield-limited). The grapes are made with gentle processing, which means that the must is macerated gently, so that the strong tannins do not dissolve, resulting in velvety, easy-to-drink wines, which are then aged in oak barrels.

Serving suggestion

Its colour is a vibrant ruby. It is characterised by a fresh, spicy, fruity aroma. Its taste is round, velvety, with fine tannins and a hint of sweetness that makes it a very drinkable wine. Recommended serving temperature is 16-18ºC.

Producer information

Mészáros Borház is a 120-year-old family winery, which is still owned by the Mészáros family. They have won several awards, for example in 2012 Mészáros Borház was voted Winery of the Year by the National Council of Wine Regions, the Hungarian Wine Academy and the Hungarian Association of Grape and Wine Producers. In 2016, Pál Mészáros was named Winemaker of the Year by the Hungarian Wine Academy, and in the same year Mészáros Borház also won the "Most Beautiful Vineyard in Hungary" award.

My great-grandfather was the most successful, he already passed the grapes through 3-4 times, and made selection wines. In fact, he had a crusher that also destemmed.
