Lentils are a very old cultivated plant. They were cultivated in Central Europe as early as the Stone Age. They are currently cultivated in the southern and south-eastern parts of Europe, mainly in countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea.

Lentils are one of the most valuable and sought-after foods among the legumes that can be grown in our country. Their seeds contain about 28% protein, which has a better biological value and dietary effect than beans and peas.
