Producer information

In 1968, the Budapest Dairy Company started to manufacture the original Soviet dessert (in the Soviet Union, an ancestor of the dessert filled with a mixture of curd cheese, butter and sugar, flavoured with vanilla and coated in chocolate, already existed under the name "glazirovannij szirok") after the idea was brought to Hungary during a study trip between the COMECON countries. It was first manufactured in the Szabolcstej dairy plant in Mátészalka, then production was also started in the Zalkatej dairy plant in Nagybánhegyes. Following the regime change, the manufacturing companies were privatised, as a result of which the production of Túró Rudi became the property of Friesland-Campina.

Even today, the Pöttyös brand enjoys incredible popularity, as every age group can find their favourite flavour. For us Hungarians, Pöttyös products mean more than just a delicacy. They are always with us and always bring a smile to our face, they cheer us up!
