Alnatura organic red cabbage

Red cabbage is an excellent pickle, it goes well with many dishes, and can be used in a variety of ways. It goes well with stews or meat dishes, but can also be used as a complement to salads.
Suggestion for use - Chestnut tofu with feta and red cabbage fried in a pan
Preparation time
55 minutes.
Ingredients
For 4 servings:
- 1 jar of red cabbage (canned) (650 g)
- 3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
- 2 packages of feta (360 g)
- 1 package of smoked tofu (175 g)
- 2 red onions
- 400 g chestnuts (frozen)
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 0.5 tablespoon of ground black pepper
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
- 2 tablespoons of raw cane sugar
Preparation
- Prepare the ingredients - Heat the oven to 200°C with top/bottom heating. Drain the red cabbage in a colander. Remove the feta and tofu from the packaging and drain them as well. Cut the smoked tofu into ½ cm cubes. Peel the onion, cut it in half and cut it into thin half rings. Blanch the chestnuts in salted water for 7 minutes, according to the instructions on the package, then drain.
- Bake the feta and red cabbage - Mix the red cabbage with the cinnamon and pepper in a bowl. Divide the feta into 4 portions and place them side by side in a baking dish. Place the red cabbage around the feta and bake in the oven (in the middle) for 15 minutes.
- Prepare and serve the chestnut dish - Heat the oil in a non-stick pan and fry the tofu cubes for 8 minutes over high heat, turning them occasionally. Add the onion and fry for another 1 minute until translucent, then add the chestnuts. Toast the whole thing for another 2 minutes. Sprinkle with sugar and let caramelize. Pour with apple cider vinegar, let the moisture evaporate a little, and when done, spread over the baked feta-red cabbage. The dish is then ready to serve.
