Mangosteen

Mangosteen, scientifically known as Garcinia mangostana, is a mangosteen tree, an evergreen tree native to Southeast Asia, and its fruit.
It is recognized for its unique appearance and taste, and is often called the queen of fruits.
The fruit has three main parts: a purple rind, white edible flesh inside, which is divided into segments like an orange or mandarin, making them easy to separate from each other.

Usage

The rind is not suitable for consumption, its seed is bitter, but the inner white flesh, which has a pleasant aroma and sweet taste, is a perfect delicacy that can be used for many things.
Cut the outer rind (it is quite hard, but easy to cut) and then peel out the white segments. Be careful, because the purple liquid dripping from the rind is difficult to wash out! The most common use is juice. It is perfect raw, in fruit salads, and also goes well with Thai noodle dishes!

Storage

Store in a dry, cool place, between 10-12 °C.
