Product description
JÓkenyér wholemeal sourdough bread with seeds is made from two types of seeds – sesame seeds, flax seeds – and only wholemeal flour. The latter has the great advantage of containing the husk of the grain, so the nutritional value (minerals and trace elements) and fibre content of the bread made with it is significantly higher than that of white bread. This bread is also made from 100% natural ingredients, with our own sourdough and a long fermentation technology. We have enriched the dough with flaxseed, which is perhaps the first and one of the most important sources of essential fatty acids, and among its many other beneficial effects, it helps to prevent the deposition of harmful fats on the walls of the arteries. In addition to flaxseed, we have also enriched the dough with oatmeal, as oats are the most protein-rich cereal, and the beta-glucan it contains has been proven to lower blood cholesterol levels. Sesame seeds were sprinkled on top of the bread, which is a very important source of calcium. It contains seven times more calcium by weight than cow's milk, and rivals the calcium content of cow's cheese. The end result is a slightly sour-tasting bread. JÓkenyér started as a family business and has been working for 27 years to ensure that fresh, sourdough, additive-free bakery products are on the table of as many people as possible. They pay special attention to making their breads and bakery products from 100% natural ingredients. They believe that what is needed for good bread is the gift of nature and the heart and soul of the baker. That's why they avoid flavour enhancers, additives and colourings. To this day, they work with the same sourdough that they brought home from Baden-Baden almost 30 years ago with the aim of creating the foundations of the German "Brotkultur", which is part of the world's cultural heritage, in Hungary. In addition to traditional wheat sourdough, JÓkenyér also uses rye sourdough and sourdough made from wholemeal wheat and rye, for which the grain is freshly milled in their own mill. This ensures the freshness and flavour of their breads.
