Also known as chives.
A strongly aromatic herb. It should not be cooked, add it to the dish just before serving. It not only flavours the food, but also decorates it, and it is also a very good appetite stimulant and stomachic.
Due to its piquant flavour, it is an important spice in diet foods, but it is also a cheap source of vitamins.
It can be used to decorate sandwiches, flavour potato, bean, pea and meat soups, and offers great opportunities for housewives to add variety to fish and egg dishes. It can also be mixed into cottage cheese, soft cheeses and sauces.

Use
It is mainly used to flavour potatoes, beans, peas, meat soups, salads, roasts, egg dishes, sandwiches, cottage cheese and soft cheeses, as well as fish dishes and sauces.
Chives can be eaten all year round, but they are most valuable in winter. The taste of its leaves is reminiscent of red onion and at the same time somewhat of garlic, it has an appetizing and stomach-strengthening effect. It is usually consumed raw, finely chopped. It should not be cooked, because then its flavour and aroma will disappear.
Storage
Store in a dry, cool place, between 6-10 °C.
