Bernard Czech dark beer with 5% alcohol content

Bernard Dark Lager is an unpasteurized, double-fermented dark lager beer made with a blend of four different malts. Its flavor profile beautifully harmonizes the rich yeasty notes and the soft chocolate aromas stemming from the diversity of malts. The subtle bitterness that emerges in the finish makes it truly unique. After pouring, the slightly hazy color in the glass is caused by the yeast sediment due to the secondary bottle fermentation. This beer has received the most recognition in Czech and international competitions among Bernard beers.

The Bernard brewery in Humpolec, Czech Republic, was founded in 1991 by three private individuals. They bought the originally ruined 16th-century brewery at an auction, and after its renovation, they quickly turned it into a well-known premium brand in the Czech Republic.

The brewery's master brewers still adhere to their traditions, which is why the unpasteurized, full-bodied beers they produce can almost be considered craft beers. Following fermentation in their own cellars, the maturation takes place according to tradition, for several weeks at a temperature of around 1-2°C. The filtration process is carried out at 2 °C using special microbiological filters, so that the wort retains its original aroma and flavor in addition to its healthy nutrients.
