Producer information

The Budapest Dairy Company started producing the original Soviet dessert (in the Soviet Union, an ancestor of curd-butter-sugar mixture, vanilla flavoured, chocolate coated already existed under the name "glazirovannij szirok") in 1968, the idea was brought to Hungary during a study trip between the COMECON countries. It was first produced in the Szabolcstej Mátészalka dairy plant, then production was also started in the Nagybánhegyes Zalkatej dairy plant. Following the regime change, the manufacturing companies were privatized, as a result of which the production of Túró Rudi became the property of Friesland-Campina.

Even today, the Pöttyös brand enjoys incredible success, as every age group can find their favourite flavour. Pöttyös products mean more than just a delicacy to us Hungarians. They are always with us and bring a smile to our face at every moment, they cheer us up!
