Kale (or curly kale, Latin name: Brassica oleracea) is a real superfood, thanks to its composition and beneficial effects, it is also called the king of green leafy and yellow vegetables.
The cabbage family, which originated in Asia Minor, was brought to western Europe by the migrating Celts during the Roman era. Curly kale became established and was a popular vegetable until the Middle Ages. 100 grams of curly kale covers 200% of the body's vitamin needs!

Curly kale is very low in carbohydrates and calories, but contains large amounts of calcium, vitamin C, folic acid, iron, manganese, potassium, copper, beta-carotene, fiber, lutein and all essential amino acids, as well as the most easily absorbable forms of the health and heart-protective omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. It also contains sulfur-containing active ingredients that stimulate the body's detoxification processes and help prevent certain types of cancer.

Baked curly kale
Ingredients:
30 dkg curly kale, 4 medium potatoes, 2 medium red onions, 3 cloves of garlic, 6 tbsp. oatmeal, 50 g butter, 200 ml cooking cream, 200 ml sour cream, 400 ml milk, 1 egg, 1 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. ground cumin, 0.5 tsp. paprika, 0.5 tsp. marjoram
Preparation:
- Wash the curly kale leaves and drain them thoroughly with a salad spinner.
- Chop them up, peel the potatoes and red onions and cut them into rings.
- Finely grate the garlic cloves and mix them with the spices, cream, sour cream, milk and egg.
- Thoroughly butter a smaller baking tray and spread half of the kale on the bottom.
- Put the red onion rings on this, then the potato rings in rows. Sprinkle the oatmeal on top of the potatoes, then cover the whole thing with the remaining kale.
- Pour the spicy milk-cream-sour cream-egg mixture over it and dice the remaining butter on top.
- Covered with aluminum foil, bake in a moderately warm oven for about 30-40 minutes. Serve drizzled with sour cream.
Storage
Store in a dry, cool place, between 6-8°C.
