Despite continuous developments, by the second half of the 19th century, there were 3 competing breweries operating in Bitburg. It was time for innovation again.

The breweries wanted to come up with something completely new, so they started brewing a pilsner-style beer in 1883. In 1909, the excellent water found in the Bitburg spring was first used as the basic ingredient for brewing beer. Thanks to this, the taste of the beer became even better and even more unique.

About the brand

Founded in 1817, the family brewery in the southern Eifel region has been operating for seven generations. Following this long, 200-year tradition, the brewery is still one of the most modern and important privately owned breweries today. The most famous sentence in the German beer world, "Bitte ein Bit" ("One Bit, please"), is recognizable all over the world among fans of Bitburger Premium Pils. In addition to their perfect pilsner, their customers also enjoy their other beers and special drinks. Although their product range and brewing processes have continued to evolve, their core values have always remained the same: care, love and passion for beer. These values support their consistently high quality standards.
