Open Letter from the CEO of Kifli.hu
Dear Families Shopping with Us,
As another week begins with movement restrictions, we all increasingly feel that these circumstances are slowly becoming normal and familiar in our lives – even if a few months ago this would have seemed unimaginable. We are all facing a very difficult period.
That is why I feel the need to let you in on what is happening at Kifli.hu.
First of all, I would like to thank you for your patience and understanding regarding the disruptions and necessary restrictions experienced in recent weeks. Like other supermarkets in the country, we are working day and night to fulfill the orders that have increased exponentially in recent weeks as soon as possible. It may happen that not everything goes perfectly or we make mistakes sometimes, but I want you to know that we are doing everything we can to ensure that orders reach the family kitchen on time.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank my colleagues who are performing superhuman feats: the buyers, packers, couriers, office staff, and warehouse workers alike. They are the everyday heroes whose dedication allows us to continuously improve our services. We all feel that we are on a mission: to help feed Budapest families by delivering fresh food to as many family tables as possible. To achieve our goal, we had to dramatically increase our capacities. We arrived on the Hungarian market in December, so we had a very short time to establish our operations and adapt to the exponential increase in demand. Currently, we can serve more than ten times the number of orders we were able to fulfill at the end of February – we feel incredibly fortunate to have achieved our goals by involving new colleagues.
Of course, safety and health are among the most important considerations at present: we are making every effort to slow down and stop the spread of COVID-19. We fully comply with the regulations of not only the Government of Hungary but also the WHO in our operations.
I would like to touch on the measures introduced in recent weeks with a few thoughts.
Precautions to Maintain Safety and Health
We provide masks to all our couriers, who also work in disposable gloves. Additionally, we pay extra attention to proper disinfection of our hands and vans before and after delivery, and we clean and disinfect our warehouse premises several times a day. Our employees can only enter the warehouse after a body temperature check.
Contactless Delivery
When delivering orders, our couriers signal their arrival at the given address by knocking, ringing the doorbell, or calling by phone, then place the order in front of the door. They wait until the recipient takes the order and then say goodbye – all from at least 3 meters away.
Selecting Delivery Times
Our delivery times fill up much faster than before, but we open time slots several times a day depending on how our couriers can manage their time. Therefore, it is worth checking the site several times a day, even if there were no available time slots earlier that day. We continuously increase the number of our couriers and vans and do everything we can to ensure you receive your orders as soon as possible.
Extending Delivery Time Slots
We deliver orders continuously between 7 AM and 11 PM.
Introducing Order Limits
For some products, you may see that we have temporarily limited the orderable quantity. This measure was necessary to optimally distribute stocks among families. Our supply remains uninterrupted and continuous, so there is no need to hoard.
In Conclusion
I respectfully ask everyone to remember: we are together. Or as we say at Kifli: we solve it together. In the current situation, the following guidelines can help us help each other the most:
- When ordering, it is worth asking neighbors if they need anything. If more people place their needs in a single order, you save a lot of time for the couriers, allowing them to deliver more orders in a day.
- Please stay at home at the expected time of the courier's arrival. You help a lot by ensuring our courier spends the shortest possible time at each address.
- If we need to deliver the order to a quarantine area, please inform us in advance in the comment field! In this case, our couriers will signal their arrival by phone and wait at a greater distance until you take the packages from the door. Safety and health are the most important now.
In closing, I would like to thank all our dear customers for their patience, cooperation, and understanding, as well as the love, encouragement, and recognition you surround us with every day. We continue our mission: to supply Budapest families with food.
