About the brand

Fanta is a fruit-flavoured soft drink created by The Coca-Cola Company in 1940. It was originally created in Germany during World War II. Max Keith, the head of Coca-Cola Germany, was determined to create a new product using fruit. The name comes from a brainstorming session when company employees could not decide on a name for the drink. Keith told his team to "use their imagination", and Joe Knipp, a salesman, exclaimed "Fanta!" Production was discontinued, but in 1955 it was reintroduced.

Fanta was introduced to Hungary at an unknown time, probably in the 1990s. The drink is also famous for its commercials, which are usually orange and feature lemons or oranges (mostly the latter). It is a very successful product worldwide. It is available in over 90 flavours worldwide.
