Producer information

The Budapest Dairy Company started producing it in 1968, the idea of the originally Soviet dessert (in the Soviet Union, an ancestor of the curd-butter-sugar mixture filled with vanilla flavour and chocolate coating already existed under the name "glazirovannij szirok") came to Hungary during a study trip between the CMEA countries. It was first produced in the Mátészalka dairy plant of Szabolcstej, then production also started in the Nagybánhegyes Zalkatej dairy plant. After the regime change, the manufacturing companies were privatised, as a result of which the production of Túró Rudi became the property of Friesland-Campina.

Nowadays, the Pöttyös brand is still incredibly successful, as every age group can find their favourite flavour. Pöttyös products mean more than just a delicacy to us Hungarians. They are always with us and always bring a smile to our face, cheer us up!
