Grapes originate from Asia Minor, but they became native to the Carpathian Basin early on, and are among our oldest cultivated fruits. In Hungary, even the Romans and the Avars cultivated them. 80% of a grape berry is water. Its energy and carbohydrate content is outstanding. It is rich in vitamins and minerals that promote blood formation, the body's self-defense capabilities, and the maintenance of mental and physical fitness.

Interesting facts
Its beneficial effects on the body are hardly known: similarly to apples, it is a complete food source, it purifies the blood and has excellent nerve-strengthening and muscle-regenerating effects.
Cultivation
This grape variety is cultivated in most table grape producing countries. In Greece, it is the main white grape, but its importance is decreasing in most countries as improved varieties become more widely available.
