Experts can only guess about the original origin of the lemon, some assuming that it may have started to spread in the world from Northern India. Christopher Columbus took it overseas in 1493. Not everyone likes to eat it on its own, but it is a great ingredient for flavouring food and drinks, so the possibilities of use are very diverse.
