La Trappe Witte

Hazy golden color with nutty brown reflections. Long-lasting foam. The aroma and taste are dominated by yeast and lemon-orange-grapefruit character. When swallowed, the bitterness of the hops also elegantly greets you, which becomes dominant in the aftertaste. It does not belong to the category of light, thirst-quenching, but rather hearty, filling wheat beers.

Producer information

At the end of the 19th century, a small group of Trappist monks fled from France to Berkel-Enschot. There, in the heart of Brabant, they found a piece of land with a few cows and a sheepfold. They set up their new home in the former country residence of King William II of the Netherlands - the Koningshoeven. They founded a monastery and decided to brew beer. To this day, they fill their lives here with prayer and work, in peace and silence. 

Koningshoeven became the cradle of La Trappe Trappist. Here, within the abbey walls, Brewery de Koningshoeven produces Dutch Trappist beer. The work is still carried out under the supervision and responsibility of the monks, and it is still their inner conviction to "do good": part of the proceeds go to charity. These original principles ensure La Trappe Trappist the exclusive "Authentic Trappist Product" label of the International Trappist Association.
