Interesting facts

It contains more than twenty-five types of active ingredients - enzymes, vitamins, minerals and trace elements. Its main value is that it warms the digestive and respiratory systems, protects against atherosclerosis, helps the heart work and improves blood circulation.

Use

It is an indispensable flavouring for meat and vegetable dishes, but garlic cream soup can also be made from it.

Garlic cream soup

Ingredients:

  • 100 g peeled garlic
  • 70 g butter
  • 60 g plain flour
  • 1.2 litres chicken stock
  • 200 ml cream, min. 31%
  • A pinch of ground nutmeg
  • A pinch of white pepper
  • Salt

Preparation:

  1. Cut 100 g of garlic into rough pieces. Melt 60 g of butter in a pan, add the garlic and fry, stirring frequently. Add the flour, reduce the heat and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  2. Add the chicken stock, bring to the boil and season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Then let the soup simmer for half an hour without a lid. Stir occasionally.
  3. Add the cream and cook for 1 minute. Carefully blend the soup with a hand blender. Pour the soup into a clean container through a sieve and blend again with the hand blender.
  4. Peel 2 cloves of garlic and cut into thin slices. Heat the remaining butter in a pan and fry the garlic over a medium heat, stirring frequently, until golden brown.
  5. Serve the soup with the fried garlic.

Kifli Tip

Fry the garlic carefully, as darker fried garlic will taste bitter. Do not use older garlic that has started to sprout - you cannot make tasty soup from such garlic. You will need a hand blender and a strainer or sieve to prepare it.

Storage

Store in a dry, cool place between 0-4 °C.
