Recipe: American pancakes

Ingredients

285 g flour, 1 tsp baking powder, half tsp Horváth Rozi baking soda, 1 tsp salt, 1 tbsp sugar, 2 eggs, 340 g buttermilk (or yoghurt), 225 g sour cream, 4 tbsp melted butter.

Preparation

1. Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl. Separate the eggs, beat the egg whites until stiff.
2. Mix the egg yolks, buttermilk, sour cream until smooth, then carefully add the melted butter.
3. Gently fold the egg whites into the buttermilk mixture, then quickly add the dry ingredients.
4. Heat a little oil or butter in a pan and measure a small ladleful of the dough onto it. Spread it out, then fry for 2-2 minutes on each side.
5. Traditionally served hot with maple syrup and butter, but also excellent with fresh fruit, honey, chocolate.
