What is durum pasta?
It is made from durum flour, without the use of eggs. Durum wheat is richer in protein than everyday wheat, and it is also easier to handle, which is why it is easy to make pasta from it. In addition, it consists of complex carbohydrates, which are an excellent source of energy. So if you consume it with the right ingredients, such as vegetables and fish, it can also be incorporated into your healthy diet. It also causes a feeling of fullness easily. Therefore, it can also become part of a weight-loss diet, as you do not need to consume much of it to feel full.

We recommend it with pasta baked with sheep's cheese, sour cream and fried onions.
Ingredients
400 g Gyermelyi 4-egg fodros kocka, 150 g fatty bacon, 2 onions, 300 g sheep's cheese, 4 dl sour cream, 1 bunch of chives, salt.
Preparation
- Cut the bacon into small cubes and fry, then drain.
- Fry the cleaned, finely chopped onion in its fat until golden brown, then remove from the heat and sprinkle with the coarsely chopped chives.
- Mix the cooked, drained pasta with salt, crumbled cheese, fried bacon and 2.5 dl sour cream.
- Place on an ovenproof dish and brown in the oven. When serving, drizzle with the remaining sour cream and fried onions.

Gyermelyi Zrt. is Hungary's leading pasta manufacturer, largest egg producer and an indispensable player in the milling industry. In addition, it carries out agricultural activities on 8,800 hectares, operating a closed vertical integration. It all started on January 21, 1953, when twelve farmers from Gyermely, unable to bear the increasingly impossible burdens of individual farming, founded the Petőfi Cooperative. In 1970, the government decided to build a pasta factory, for which they were looking for a location. Gyermely's reputable cooperative undertook the task and was given the opportunity. This is how Gyermelyi Zrt. was founded.
