Producer information

The Budapest Dairy Company started producing the original Soviet dessert (in the Soviet Union, a chocolate-coated, vanilla-flavored ancestor filled with a curd-butter-sugar mixture already existed under the name "glazirovannij szirok") in 1968, when the idea came to Hungary during a study trip between the CMEA countries. It was first produced in the Szabolcstej dairy plant in Mátészalka, and then production also started in the Zalkatej dairy plant in Nagybánhegyes. After the regime change, the manufacturing companies were privatized, and as a result, the production of Túró Rudi became the property of Friesland-Campina.

Even today, the Pöttyös brand enjoys incredible success, as every age group can find their favorite flavor. Pöttyös products mean more than just a delicacy to us Hungarians. They are always with us and always bring a smile to our face, cheer us up!
