Mad Scientist - Liquid X - Sour IPA aged in a wine barrel 8.3%

The alternative fermentation version of the well-known LIQUID COCAINE double IPA, which we made together with the American ADROIT THEORY brewery. The idea was obviously born during a joint tasting on a common knife. First, we aged the MAD SCIENTIST bestseller double IPA in a domestic red wine barrel in the alternative fermentation-wild yeast MADX department, then we made it even more explosive by adding citrus peels. In addition to the barrel notes, the sweetness of the basic LIQUID COCAINE returns at the end of the sip, but it also brings every note listed above. Recommended for intermediate users.

Producer information

Mad-X was first a working name to somehow fit the concept they were discussing. Then it dragged on so long to find a name for it that they finally loved it so much that it stayed. In 2018, they were at a crossroads in several ways, because - as a well-functioning plant - they had to define the direction that would be the future of Mad Scientist. They started out in the direction of a medium-sized regional brewery.

In 2018, they toughened up on Maglódi út, so they had to decide where they imagined themselves in the longer term. Finally, they decided to stay - and against the concept of a huge factory - and designated the approximately 1000+600 square meter area where they would design the final brewery. Such decisions are terribly stressful, because they will often determine the market position of the brewery for years to come. In the end, they decided that they would not be a medium-sized regional brewery, and they started producing a wide range of unique products.
