Sauska Brut Quality Sparkling Wine

Sauska's méthode traditionnelle brut sparkling wine, made mostly from Tokaj Furmint, is complemented by a quarter of the traditional sparkling wine grape variety Chardonnay and a little Hárslevelű. It greets you with pineapple and mango, while in the mouth, elegant minerality is accompanied by quince and mint, keeping the sip long. Fine acid-sugar ratio, very good flavour.

Starting a new large winery in Villány in the early 2000s? A crazy idea. Especially if most of the starting team is not even from there. Ildikó Markó and László Latorczai, winemakers, came from Budapest and Lake Balaton, while the owner, Krisztián Sauska - despite his childhood in Somerek and his Villány roots - was still considered an "American" in the local folklore. Yet it was precisely this lack of a past that gave the freedom from which the unusual Sauska name, reinforced by numerous cuvées, could emerge. With the new vintage of the Cuvée 7s and the international success of the Cuvée 5, the Sauska winery also became known in Tokaj. 

They were among the first to develop their soon-to-be-popular range of dry white wines, which, in addition to the native Furmint, Yellow Muscat and Hárslevelű also include wines that have become popular favourites, such as Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. The base material for their méthode traditionelle sparkling wines, which will soon be produced in their new Budafok cellar, is exclusively their own Tokaj grapes, and the basis of their quality-oriented philosophy is terroir and loyalty to it.

Storage

Store at 7-15 degrees, in a dark, closed place, consume within 1-2 days after opening.
