The Mozart-ball is a spherical sweet, nougat cream, marzipan and chocolate uniquely delicious combination. The original Salzburg Mozart-ball is made with a pistachio enriched marzipan ball inside, surrounded by a thick nougat cream layer and covered with chocolate on the outside.

The Echte Salzburger Mozartkugelns from Mirabell were originally made by hand, according to a tradition dating back to the 1920s. In order to meet the growing consumer demand, this labour-intensive and time-consuming procedure was later converted to industrial production. Nevertheless, the Echte Salzburger Mozartkugelns are still made with the same love and attention to detail - 14 work steps and 2 and a half hours of production time are required for each perfectly round delicacy.
