Classic Garlic Cheese Spread

Grate the Edam cheese on a fine grater and place it in a bowl.

Cut the peeled garlic cloves in half lengthwise and remove the green germ in the middle (this can cause an unpleasant burning sensation in the stomach). Then grate the garlic on a fine grater or use a garlic press and add it to the cheese.

Add the mayonnaise and mix thoroughly. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then mix again.
