Ingredients

  • 400 g minced pork
  • 400 g minced beef
  • 260 g red onion
  • 300 ml milk
  • 6 cloves garlic
  • 3 pcs bread rolls
  • 2 pcs eggs
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon dried marjoram
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 20 g salt

Steps

  • 1
Preheat the oven to 160 °C. Pour water into a baking tray to a height of approximately 2 cm.
  • 2
Cut the bread rolls into 1 cm cubes, place them in a bowl, and pour milk over them to soften. Finely chop the red onion, and peel and crush the garlic.
  • 3
Place the minced meats in a large bowl, add the soaked bread rolls, onion, garlic, and all other spices. Knead the mixture thoroughly. With wet hands, form it into a large loaf, smooth its surface, brush with water, then place it in the baking tray.
  • 4
Place the baking tray in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 1 hour. During baking, baste the meat with its own juices. After one hour, turn off the oven and let the meatloaf rest inside for another 15 minutes.
  • 5
Finally, slice the meatloaf, drizzle with its juices, and serve with potatoes or creamy mashed potatoes.
