The factory, which has been in operation for several decades, specializes in the production of medicated candies. Initially, it started with the production of anise-menthol flavored hard candies, but over time it also switched to the production of honey-menthol, sour cherry-menthol, and extra strong white Negro. The NEGRO candy was named after its inventor, Pietro Negro, who found the recipe while recycling the excess produced during the manufacture and molding of the sour candy. The NEGRO recipe was born by accident, but the composition is still a closely guarded manufacturing secret today.
