Lucullus Turmeric

Turmeric is the dried and ground rhizome (Curcuma longa) of the turmeric plant, a spice and medicinal herb. It is cultivated in China and Indonesia. Due to its strong yellow colour, it is also called Indian saffron. Its aroma is very distinctive, in small quantities it gives a flavour reminiscent of orange and ginger to the food, but in large quantities it becomes pungent and bitter. Use it sparingly!
