Alnatura Organic Ground Turmeric

No Indian curry is complete without spices. Turmeric powder comes from the rootstock of a ginger relative and has a fine peppery-fruity taste with slightly tart notes. Alnatura ground turmeric comes from organic farming and, as a typical spice of oriental cuisine, goes well with rice, legumes or vegetables. Fish, meat and tofu dishes also get a distinctive aroma and a rich orange colour from it.

Use - Spicy cashew cream as a "cream cheese"

Preparation time

Ingredients
For 1 x 500 ml preserving jar:

• 250 g cashew cream
• 3 tablespoons Alnatura Organic Lemon Juice
• 200 ml water
• 4 tablespoons Alnatura Organic Flavoured Yeast Flakes
• 1 teaspoon Alnatura Organic Ground Turmeric
• 1 teaspoon Alnatura sea salt

Preparation

1. Put the cashew cream, lemon juice and water in a bowl and mix until smooth. Stir in all the other ingredients. Depending on the desired consistency, add a little more water if necessary.
2. Store airtight in a cool, dark place.

Tip

• The spicy cashew cream can be used not only as a sandwich topping, but also to flavour vegetable casseroles or gratin. To do this, pour the cream with a little water and season with salt.
• Flavour or garnish the cream with fresh herbs.
