Gere Frici (KL-SB-OM) Sparkling Wine 2023 Villány

Intense but not intrusive, flattering aroma, in which well-ripened white-fleshed fruits line up. Mango, pear, apricot, a little vanilla. When tasted, tight acids give momentum to the sip, in which citrus fruits and some green spiciness are complemented by pleasant effervescence.

The history of their winery began 7 generations ago and they had to travel a long, challenging, hard-working, tradition-respecting, but at the same time innovative, experimental path to create the current GERE name, which is well-known both in Hungary and abroad. Today, the family's estate reaches 70 hectares and the younger generation is already part of the winery's everyday life. Their aim is to re-establish the intergenerational viticulture and winemaking that has been passed down from ancestors to descendants, based on the old Hungarian model.

"Grapes and wine made from them, which have been associated with humanity for thousands of years, are still an integral part of our lives today. It determines the mood of our everyday life. We, winemakers, have dedicated our lives to making more and more beautiful and delicious wines with the help of the possibilities offered by nature. This can only be achieved if we live with the values of the vine, not exploit them. Our vineyard should be well-kept and tidy: that's when it gives what it can give.
