He named the brand after his two sons, Dilhan and Malik, and today the two sons carry out the company's operational management activities. Dilmah is still the only global tea brand whose owners are the producers themselves. Their teas largely come from the family business's own plantation, which is packaged in Sri Lanka from freshly hand-picked tea leaves.
