Cats spend up to 60% of their day cleaning their fur. It is therefore not surprising that a lot of hair ends up in their stomachs. Hairballs are not only unpleasant for the owners, but also endanger the health of our pets and can lead to blockages. Since many cats feel the need to eat plants, both outdoor and indoor pets often start nibbling on poisonous plants.
Therefore, it is recommended to always have a pot of cat grass in the apartment!

Care

Cat grass is usually a type of cereal (wheat or barley), which is certainly not poisonous and you can safely offer it to your pet. Always keep the cat grass slightly moist! It is advisable to water it from below and keep it in a sunny place from autumn to spring, and in a shadier place from spring to autumn. The advantage of cereal leaves is that they are harmless to the cat's body and are not as sharp as real grass, so it will not hurt when the cat eats grass. The vast majority of seeds intended for plant cultivation contain some kind of plant protection product, so it is not recommended to grow grass for your pet from them.
