Despite its high alcohol content, Bernard Bohemian Ale is an exceptionally fresh beer with a fruity flavour. Its mild yeasty and grainy notes are complemented by a pinch of spicy coriander, which gives the beer a warm aftertaste. Its finish is fresh and slightly bitter.

What is ale beer?

One of the oldest types of beer, which was not even made with hops in the past, and its alcohol content was also very low. Today, it is one of the easiest types of beer to make, which is made with top fermentation.

The Bernard brewery in Humpolec, Czech Republic, was founded in 1991 by three private individuals. They bought the originally ruined 16th century brewery at an auction, and after its renovation, they quickly made it one of the well-known premium brands in the Czech Republic.

The brewery's master brewers still adhere to their traditions, which is why the unpasteurised, full-bodied beers they make can almost be considered craft beers. Following fermentation in their own cellars, the maturation takes place in accordance with tradition, for several weeks at a temperature of around 1-2°C. The filtration process is carried out at 2 °C using special microbiological filters, so that the wort retains its original aroma and flavour in addition to its healthy nutrients.
