Special roasting: the pores of the South American Arabica coffee are opened in a unique way, in a home-made, artisanal environment, with "warm" roasting. They are left to rest for a day, and then the coffee beans are tossed in small batches in hazelnut flavouring, so that the open pores of the coffee beans absorb the hazelnut flavour like a sponge.

Cafe Frei was founded by two friends: Tamás Frei, a novelist, former TV globetrotter, who has visited more than 150 countries in the past decades and loves coffee and the world associated with it with passion; and Tamás Langár, an economist, food industry entrepreneur, who helps the operation of the network from the business side with more than 30 years of experience.

The first CAFE FREI coffee shop opened in Hungary in April 2007, and since then their coffee shop franchise network has been continuously expanding. By now, they have grown into the largest coffee shop chain in the country. Thanks to their unique franchise system, the year 2013 brought them an international breakthrough, when they opened the first Central European coffee shops. Since then, they have been operating coffee shops from France to Dubai. Among others, in such exotic countries as Saudi Arabia.
