Since 1888, the House of Metaxa has been offering its uniquely soft, amber-coloured wine distillate. Its aroma is fresh and fruity, with a rich, sweet character reminiscent of raisins. Its full-bodied, mature flavour is complemented by a hint of vanilla spice. The oaky character is also evident in its taste. A distillate of Attic wines aged for at least 5 years in oak barrels, made truly unique by Muscat wine and herbs mixed with rose petals.

About the brand

Spyros Metaxa, born in Greece in 1848, was a descendant of a family of silk merchants. An adventurer and a man of taste, he decided to set up his own business in fine goods. The ever-travelling Spyros Metaxa discovered various spirits and wines from all over the world.
