Basmati rice is grown in the foothills of the Himalayas in northern India and Pakistan. During its growth and ripening, it acquires a characteristic aroma and delicate flavour, which is why this rice variety is called the "queen" of rice by rice lovers.

It can be consumed with meat and vegetables, in rice salads, curries, exotic dishes, and with sweet and sour sauces.
