Alnatura Organic Spicy Cream with Basil, Nuts and Cheese Pesto Verde
The green pesto recipe originates from Liguria, where basil grows in fragrant bushes. Perfect as a quick pasta sauce, but can also be used as an extra seasoning for vegetable soups, as a base for dips and on its own on bread. The ingredients of Alnatura Pesto Verde – extra virgin olive oil, walnuts, hard cheese and 25% basil – come from organic farming.
Usage - Salami pizza with cauliflower base
Preparation time
approx. 25 minutes + approx. 30 minutes baking time
Ingredients
For 2 pizzas with a diameter of 22 cm:
- 1 cauliflower (approx. 800 g)
- 300 g chickpea flour
- 2 teaspoons Alnatura Organic Baking Powder
- 2 teaspoons Alnatura Iodized Sea Salt, Fine-Grained
- 200 ml hot water
- 8 tablespoons Alnatura Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 500 g mini mozzarella
- 60 g rocket
- 120 g Alnatura Organic Spicy Cream with Basil, Nuts and Cheese Pesto Verde (1 jar)
- 80 g salami
Preparation
- Wash and chop the cauliflower, cut into florets and chop in a food processor to about the size of rice grains.
- In a bowl, mix the chickpea flour with the baking powder, salt, hot water and oil. Stir in the chopped cauliflower and leave to swell for 10 minutes at room temperature, covered.
- Preheat the fan oven to 200°C. Cut the mozzarella balls in half, wash the rocket and shake dry. Divide the dough between 2 baking trays lined with baking paper and make 2 pizzas about 22 cm in diameter and ½ cm thick.
- Bake the pizzas in the oven for about 22 minutes without topping. Then spread with pesto, top with salami and mozzarella and bake for about 8 minutes. Serve garnished with rocket.
Tip
You can use another Alnatura Pesto instead of Pesto Verde. For a meatless version, you can put seitan slices on top of the pizza.
